Exhibits

Forever by Leslie Stadnichuk and Remembered by Kathleen Slavin

Two new exhibits are sharing the Main Floor at the Gallery beginning on January 10, 2024.

Leslie Stadnichuk paints florals and landscapes using mainly oils. Her exhibition features gorgeous, colourful floral paintings. She describes flowers as an expression of care and concern to those we love in times of great joy or immense sorrow, and the titles of her pieces reflect that emotion.

Kathleen Slavin describes Remembered as inspired by Sassi, an old town in southern Italy, which is one of the oldest continuously inhabited places in the world. Her pieces evoke the old-world Mediterranean feel of the area, as seen in the stunning colours and shapes used.

The Gallery is hosting a reception for Leslie and Kathleen on Saturday, January 20 from 1:30 to 4:00pm. There will be snacks and refreshments available.

These shows will be on display until February 23, 2024.

Visit the Gallery Tuesday – Friday from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m., and Saturday from 10:00a.m. to 12:00p.m. and 1:00 – 5:00p.m.

Contemplative Glass: Finding the Stories Within
2nd Floor Gallery

January 10 – February 23, 2024

In this exhibit conceptualized by Elaina Adams and Becky Zimmer, the art of glass making and the art of fiction writing come together. The style of glass making in this exhibit creates layers, textures, and shapes that evoke images and stories in the viewer’s mind. A group of local writers gathered by Becky Zimmer visited Elaina Adams at her studio to be inspired by these glass sheets. They each created a short piece of fiction based on what they could see in the glass. The exhibit brings the Contemplative Art Glass sheets together with the words they inspired.

The exhibit features written works from Ivan Buehler, Becky Zimmer, Janice L. Dick, Lorraine Holtvogt, Carol Gossner, Hazel Milne Kellner, Dee Robertson, Loretta Polischuk and Audrey Freistadt.
