This artwork was donated by the Town of Blackfalds, Alberta. Mayor Richard Poole wrote: “At our April 10 Council Meeting, we stood for a minute of silence and our Council pledged to send our condolences and offer support. One of our community leaders organized a memorial, which was held April 13th and attended by hockey and sports teams, emergency services personnel and hundreds of individuals and families from Blackfalds and the surrounding area. Attendees wore hand-made ribbons, lovingly tied in honor of the victims and gathered together to reflect, grieve and honor all those involved. MP Blaine Calkins and MLA Ron Orr spoke from the heart, along with other community leaders to offer words of compassion and support in this time of darkness, grief and healing.” B-14(a)
