Who drove the first car in Humboldt? How did local people adapt to the changes that automobiles brought to the area? This exhibit is a snapshot of this time of innovation and adaptation in local history.
Thank you to local automotive enthusiasts Ed Drachenberg for lending us his working model of Henry Ford’s first internal combustion engine, Ron Sokolan for the loan of several artifacts from his collection, and Wilfred Mollenbeck who has allowed us to display his handcrafted steel model of a 1925 Ford Model T. These will be on display along with several artifacts, photographs and stories from the Museum’s collection.
Community Car Chat
Join us on Thursday, April 10th at 7:00 p.m. on the main floor of the Museum to take in Exit the Horse: The Early Years of Canadian Motoring and have a community car chat with Ed, Ron and Wilfred about the pieces they have contributed to the exhibit. If you love cars, you won’t want to miss this!
