“Our hope for this exhibit is to showcase the art and the abilities of the individuals that we serve. Art has created an opportunity for them to express themselves verbally and creatively. Sometimes, as part of a community that hasn’t had an opportunity to be involved in the “bigger-than”, you don’t have as many chances to shine as other folks do outside our walls. Not only do we have talented artists and people here, but there is a wide variety of abilities and it is our hope to celebrate that with the rest of our community.
The work that the Museum and Gallery does in the community shows an inclusiveness that made us think that partnership in this project would be a great bridge in showcasing the individuals we serve.
Futuristic Industries has gone through many significant changes in the last 50 years, and as we move forward beyond 50 years we will see many more. The hope in participating in projects such as this is that we broaden, we put our folks front and centre, and we go from being a part of “our” community to being a part of “the” community.”
– Ray Whitton, Executive Director, Futuristic Industries Inc.
