If you’re from the Humboldt Area, then you’ve likely heard that we’re located on Treaty 6 territory. But do you know what that means?
150 years ago, Treaty 6 was negotiated and signed at Fort Carlton and Fort Pitt. What were the terms that were negotiated? How did the First Nations do their best to negotiate a fair deal? What happened in the years after the Treaty promises were made, and how does that legacy impact us today? Explore these questions and more during your visit to the Museum, and learn of historical impact of Treaty 6 and its future implications.
The exhibit will be on display on the main floor of the Museum from March 31 to July 25.
