Public Art

The City of Humboldt’s Murals Committee promotes and manages the creation of public art. The Committee is the sole authority to choose the subject matter, artist and site location for murals in the City of Humboldt.  No person shall construct, affix, or otherwise attach to the exterior of any structure, wall, roof or fence, a mural without having first obtained permission from the Committee.

There are several public art projects in the community including the Humboldt Beginnings, Urban Lukan and CN murals, the Diefenbaker Stamp image, the Alexander von Humboldt bust and the NEW Canada 150 mural mosaic - one of dozens across Canada that will celebrate the nation's 150th birthday!

Ongoing and sincere thanks are given to the many sponsors, volunteers, partners and agencies that support the development of public art in the community.
